I remember standing in a home décor store with my son, Kendall, shortly after my divorce.
I was there to pick out things for my bedroom and bathroom—spaces that were finally mine to redesign. As we walked through the aisles, Kendall casually asked me a simple question:
“Mom, what do you like?”
And I froze.
Not because I was being picky.
Not because I needed more time to think.
I genuinely didn’t know the answer.
In that moment, I realized something that stopped me in my tracks:
Somewhere along the way, I had lost my voice. I had spent so many years making decisions based on what others needed or wanted that I no longer knew how to answer that question for myself.
That moment became a quiet but powerful wake-up call.
Why This Happens to So Many Women in Midlife
What I experienced isn’t unusual—especially for women in midlife.
Many of us spend decades following a very clear plan:
- Get married
- Build a career
- Have kids
- Raise kids
- Get them through high school and into their next chapter
There’s always a next step.
A structure.
A sense of direction.
And often, we’re really good at it.
But for me, turning 50 brought several transitions all at once—divorce, an empty nest, and the realization that the plan I’d been following no longer applied. The autopilot turned off, and suddenly I was left asking questions I hadn’t had to answer before:
Who am I now?
What do I want?
What’s next?
Without a roadmap, that space can feel overwhelming. Not because something is wrong with you—but because you’re standing at a crossroads without clear direction.
The Overwhelm Isn’t a Failure—It’s a Signal
Midlife has a way of slowing us down enough to notice what we’ve been carrying.
The overwhelm you might feel—the indecision, the exhaustion, the sense of being disconnected from yourself—is often a sign that what worked before no longer works. And that doesn’t mean you failed.
It means you’ve entered a new season.
A season that asks different questions.
And without a map, it’s easy to feel stuck, unsure, or tempted to rush into something—anything—just to feel like you’re moving again.
What Actually Helped Me Move Forward
What helped me wasn’t one big decision.
It was slowly rebuilding stability, confidence, and self-trust across every area of my life.
Piece by piece, I began paying attention to:
- What gave me energy—and what drained it
- Where I needed more support
- What I wanted to carry forward into this next chapter
- What I was finally ready to let go of
That process didn’t happen overnight. But with intention and support, clarity followed.
That’s why I created The Midlife Roadmap—to help women who feel disconnected from themselves find their footing again.
Not by reinventing who they are, but by honoring everything they’ve lived through and intentionally choosing what comes next.
If You’re Wondering Whether the Midlife Roadmap Is Right for You
If you’re reading this and wondering whether the Midlife Roadmap might be a good fit for you, I want you to know this: you’re welcome to reach out.
We can talk through where you are, what feels hardest right now, and what kind of support would be most helpful in this season. There’s no pressure and no rush—just a conversation to help you gain clarity and decide what your next step might be.
Sometimes the most helpful thing isn’t making a decision right away—it’s simply having space to talk it through with someone who understands this season.
If You’re Standing in That Same Place
If you’re in this season—feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or quietly wondering where you fit now—I want you to hear this:
You’re not behind.
You’re not broken.
And you don’t have to figure this out alone.
If you’re ready for guidance instead of guessing, the Midlife Roadmap may be the next right step for you.
You don’t have to have all the answers.
You just need a place to start.
Cheering you on,
