How Do You Want To Feel This Summer?

Summer isn’t just a season—it’s an opportunity.

Not just to do more, but to feel more aligned, more alive, more like yourself.

But here’s what I hear from so many women in midlife:

“I have time, but I don’t know what I want to do.”
“Everyone else is making plans—and I feel stuck.”
“I’ve spent so long taking care of everyone else, I forgot what I enjoy.”

Sound familiar?

You're not alone. And you’re not broken.
You’re just in a new season. One that invites intention—not obligation.

Start with this question:

How do you want to feel this summer?
Not what do you need to do. Not what you should do.

But how do you want to feel?

Choose your words

Here’s a list to get you started. Circle the ones that speak to you—or come up with your own:

  • Free

  • Grounded

  • Connected

  • Peaceful

  • Energized

  • Creative

  • Playful

  • Confident

  • Inspired

  • Adventurous

  • Rested

  • Brave

  • Joyful

  • Light

  • Whole

Pick 2–3 that resonate most.

 Now ask yourself:

  • When was the last time I felt that way?

  • What was I doing?

  • Who was I with?

  • What did I not have on my plate back then?

This is about remembering what fills your cup. Not what looks good on paper. Not what pleases everyone else. But what brings you back to life.

I recently worked with a client who has the summer off for the first time in years. Her last child is graduating college. For the first time in forever, her calendar was wide open—but she felt completely lost.

“I don’t even know what I enjoy anymore,” she told me.

So we pressed pause.
She went back and looked at old photos. Trips. Hikes. Moments with friends.
And slowly, a picture started to emerge—not of who she was, but of who she still is.

That’s the power of this question.

Your challenge this week

  • Choose 2–3 feelings you want to experience this summer.

  • Find a photo of yourself from a time when you felt that way.

  • Ask: What about that moment brought those feelings to life?

That’s your starting point.
